For the Batter Base

Ingredients

  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ¼ Teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ Cup Milk
  • 1 To Taste Ground Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Slice butter and place in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Put dish in oven while it preheats to melt the butter.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in milk just until combined.
  5. Remove dish from oven and pour batter over melted butter. Do not stir.
  6. Spoon peaches and juice (or canned peaches, undrained) evenly over the batter.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon generously over the top.
  8. Bake for 38–40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
