- In a medium saucepan, combine sliced peaches, sugar, and salt.
- Cook over medium heat for 3–5 minutes until sugar dissolves and juices release.

For the Batter Base
Pour batter over melted butter—don't stir. The batter rises around the fruit like a tide
Ingredients
- 6 Tablespoons Butter
- 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- ¼ Teaspoon Salt
- ¾ Cup Milk
- 1 To Taste Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Slice butter and place in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Put dish in oven while it preheats to melt the butter.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in milk just until combined.
- Remove dish from oven and pour batter over melted butter. Do not stir.
- Spoon peaches and juice (or canned peaches, undrained) evenly over the batter.
- Sprinkle cinnamon generously over the top.
- Bake for 38–40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
